Mid Europa Partners increases shareholding in T-Mobile Czech Republic and Ceske Radiokomunikace

Mid Europa Partners announced today that it has agreed to acquire an additional 37.3% stake in Falcon Group from their consortium partner Lehman Brothers taking their ownership in the Group to 74.6%. Falcon Group owns 100% of Ceske Radiokomunikace ("CRa") and 39.2% of T-Mobile Czech Republic ("TMCZ"), which it acquired in November 2006.

CRa is the leading national provider of analogue and digital TV and radio broadcast transmission services and a leading alternative provider of  telecommunications services in the Czech Republic.

TMCZ is the market leader in mobile telecommunications services in the Czech Republic with approximately 5.3 million subscribers, representingover 40% market share of subscribers and is one of the few major CEE mobile assets not wholly-owned by a major operator.

Craig Butcher, Partner of Mid Europa, said: "We believe that the long-term fundamentals for T-Mobile and Ceske Radiokomunikace remain attractive and are delighted to be able to increase our shareholding less than two years after the initial acquisition. Commenting on the transaction, Jane Hannah, Chief Executive Officer of Ceske Radiokomunikace, said: "We are delighted that our shareholders have demonstrated their firm commitment and support to CRa and their belief in the Company's ability to deliver its long term Digital Broadcasting and Telecommunications strategy.
