Mid Europa announces the acquisition of Medycyna Rodzinna

Mid Europa Partners announced today that it has agreed to acquire up to 100% of Medycyna Rodzinna S.A. from Polish Enterprise Fund LP managed by Enterprise Investors and several individual investors. The investment which will be structured as an add-on to the recently announced acquisition of LUX-MED S.A. is expected to close in the second half of 2007.

Medycyna Rodzinna is the sixth-largest private healthcare provider in Poland serving over 300,000 patients through its nation-wide network of 17 branded clinics, supported by over 200 affiliated private providers. Through AVI, Medycyna Rodzinna also has an important presence in the rapidly expanding diagnostic services business.

Matthew Strassberg, who led the investment for Mid Europa, commented: "The acquisition of Medycyna Rodzinna is the first step in the implementation of our strategy to consolidate the Polish private healthcare market. The combination of Medycyna Rodzinna and LUX-MED, will result in a leading private healthcare provider with a well-diversified payor base of corporations, insurance companies, individuals and the National Health Fund."

Malgorzata Kowalska, Medycyna Rodzinna's CEO commented: "Under our leadership Medycyna Rodzinna has broadened its service offering to include a full range of corporate and insurance products to complement its original business focus of providing quality primary healthcare under contracts with the National Health Fund. We welcome Mid Europa as a new shareholder, who with their resources will be able to support Medycyna Rodzinna's continued expansion."

Anna Rulkiewicz, Management Board member of LUX-MED commented: "We look forward to working with the management team of Medycyna Rodzinna to develop a new enhanced product offering that will address the needs of the clients of both businesses. Once operationally integrated, the company will offer a broad range of medical packages to corporate and individual subscribers throughout Poland, as well as continue to serve patients under contracts with the National Health Fund."
