In late 2003, Mid Europa acquired a 50% stake in a JV alongside Pilkington, one of the largest glass producers in the world, to build a state-of-the-art glass factory near Moscow to meet the growing demand for high quality float glass in the Western Russian market. The plant, with over 240,000 tons saleable capacity, has been in operation since early 2006.

Mid Europa fully exited its investment in Pilkington in January 2010.
